An innovative VC backed SaaS company that has developed a unique solution for the circular economy. The propositions which are sold to Retailers, CPG firms, Packaging , Waste Disposal and Recycling Companies helps companies to reduce the amount of single use plastics and packaging that go to landfill and so increases the amount of waste that remains in the circular economy and is then recycled.

We are looking to hire a Head of Commercial Sales that will report to the CEO and be responsible for developing and delivering the sales and marketing plan whilst also supporting other commercial aspects of the business.

This role will suit those that have a natural interest in sustainability and ideal candidates will have worked in the Software or Tech Services sectors, ideally focussed on Sustainability or ESG. Candidates that have sold solutions to Retail and CPG firms or have exposure to Packaging, Labeling or RfiD Technology will also be also interesting and potentially have relevant domain experience.

The Role

  • Collaborate closely with the CEO to develop and execute the company’s sales strategy, with a focus on driving revenue growth and market expansion
  • Hire, lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Design and implement scalable sales processes and methodologies, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including prospects, customers, investors and partners
  • Drive the entire sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure, leveraging a consultative approach to understand customer needs and deliver tailored solutions
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
  • Collaborate with and provide direction to marketing  to develop compelling messaging, campaigns, and collateral to support sales efforts
  • Enhance and continue to develop a joined up sales and marketing function utilising SalesTech and Martech
  • Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and success teams to ensure customer satisfaction and retention

The Person

  • Passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact through innovative technology solutions
  • Experience in B2B sales as a sales leader with a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets in the SaaS or Tech Services sector
  • Experience gained in ESG, Sustainability, Recycling, Labelling, RFiD, Retail or CPG are all interesting areas of interest
  • Will have worked for a smaller company in rapid scale mode
  • Deep understanding of sales methodologies, techniques, and best practices, with the ability to design and implement effective sales processes
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data and insights into actionable strategies
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate value propositions effectively
